Lumana is a microfinance institution in Ghana that seeks to alleviate poverty in rural communities through education and entrepreneurship. Lumana's vision is to create healthy communities across Africa by first creating a baseline of financial self-sufficiency through microfinance and Business Management Education. Technology and innovation play a large role in their strategy to encourage encourage community building and entrepreneurship, and leadership throughout the village. Using tools like Open Data Kit, Mifos, and the PPI, they're doing extensive surveying and analysis to better target their services to the poor throughout the region.
